An Omnicom veteran of 20+ years, John Swift has a strong track record of integrating media channels to the benefit of Omnicom Media Group clients. In his current role, John leads Omnicom Media Group’s investment practice across all media channels in the US and Canada representing $21B of annual client spending.
Previously, John was President of Integrated Communications for Omnicom Media Group (OMG) leading the Lowes, FedEx, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Chobani and Hertz media teams to ensure seamless, strategic integration between OMG media agencies (OMD, Resolution Media, Content Collective and Optimum Sports) and sister Omnicom creative agencies.
John began his career in 1988 at BBDO in the National TV Buying group. In 1999 he moved to NBC Sports and Olympics sales before returning to the Omnicom family two years later. He joined the OMD media agency where he worked to consolidate the PepsiCo media business. By combining Pepsi Cola and Frito-Lay with the newly-acquired Quaker Oats brands, his team delivered over $40MM in media savings to the client.
The opportunity to lead all US investment teams — including national and local TV, Print, Radio, OOH and Digital — took John to Omnicom’s PHD Media in 2006.
John was named Managing Director, Integrated Investment for Omnicom Media Group in 2009 to play an oversight and integration role for all investment activities across the Group’s media agencies. This prepared him for his current role as CEO of all Omnicom Media Group investment in North America which he assumed in September 2013.
A graduate of Villanova University and an avid golfer, John makes his home in Chatham, NJ with his wife and their three children.
